Rule for Absenteeism


1 . Students are responsible for making up all work missed during the period of their absence.

2 . Students who remain absent on the previous day will not be admitted to the class without the permission of the class teacher.

3 . Leave may be granted to a student only on the following grounds :-

1 ) In case of serious illness or mis happening in the family.

2 ) For condolence visits.

3 ) To attend the marriage of his/her own elder brother/sister or brother/ sister of either parent.

4 . Every absence (due to sickness or other – wise) must be entered briefly in the leave record pages and the message passing page and be signed by parents or guardians only.

5. Parents should send the leave application strictly according to the leave application format given at the end of this diary invariably to school when the child is absent. However, if no information of the child absence is received by the class teacher within three days, he/she may send notice to the respective parents.

6 . Reported absence without leave or unexplained absence for more than six consecutive days will result in the student’s name being struck off from the attendance register. Re-admission may be granted at the discretion of the management, on payment of fresh admission fees and re- test.

7. Leave Application should always be addressed to the Principal through the Class Teacher.

8. All students are expected to attend the school on the re-opening day after each vacation.

9. Absence for more than three days immediately after a vacation renders the student liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls, if prior permission has not been availed by the guardian or parent.

10. A Student returning to school after suffering from any infection should not attend classes. Students suffering from the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of recovery time before returning to school.

1 ) Cholera- Till the child is completely well.

2 ) Chicken pox-Till scabs fall and completely well.

3 ) Whooping cough-After taking doctor’s written permission.

4 ) Mums- Until swelling has gone

5 ) Measles- Two weeks after the rashes disappear.

11. House incharge of each house may impose special fine, if a student remains absent on the day of sports/cultural activities.

12 Those who remains absent without sanctioned leave will be fined at the rate Rs. 25/- per day for up to three days.
